When “green”and “light”meet, their interchanging expressions are interwoven. There is no need for additional decoration, and the site environment requires no additional verbal introduction. Visitors can quietly experience it all with their own senses!
At the beginning of the design, we wanted to keep the numerous trees at the site and minimize the impact on the surroundings. Therefore, we thought of breaking the large building massing of general sales center and instead replace it with scattered individual space units. They are arranged randomly like satellites around the original trees, encircling the old tree at the center of the site and are connected by the winding cloister.
It gives visitors the feeling of walking through a forest. At first, they pass through the gatehouse and the outdoor cloister space leading to the indoor lobby and then they arrive at the transparent glass corridors on both sides. The surrounding trees become the major focus of the space. With the changes of light and shadow and the flow of air, a large number of tree shadows sometimes swing and sometimes flicker, reflecting on the plain concrete floor. At this time, the indoor and outdoor spaces have penetrated each other and the boundary disappears.
The exterior of “metallic paint”and “glass”does not attract attention on the existence of the building. Instead, it is hoped that it merges into the trees and green space, reflecting the greenness of the environment and sometimes reflecting the shadow of the branches!
